13 October 2025 - Pescara
We like Pescara. It’s a sprawling city, but there is a long sandy beach with a wide promenade alongside it. The two main piazze and shopping streets are wide pedestrianised boulevards. Some of the outdoor coffee shops are already closed, making it feel very much out of season, but then it is.

| Foot and cycle bridge across the river mouth, looking along the beach |
| Fishing boats in the river looking towards the marina |
Away from these main areas there are wonderful little butchers, greengrocers and bakeries in the little streets, selling the sort of food we have come to know and love in Italy. The delicatessens have the dried hams hanging from the wall. Being able to source prepared food makes catering on the boat much easier, and here, it’s not difficult for it to be healthy and avoid UPFs.
